How?

First Step

The first step in starting the recycling process is knowing what to recycle. There are many great resources for what is and what isn't allowable for recycling, and I think you will be surprized by how much of your refuse can be reused. www.obviously.com has a very extensive list of what can and can't be recycled.

Next Step

Now that you know what to recycle, you might want to consider organizing your recyclable items into their appropriate groups. There are many practical ways to manage your recycling like the bins to the above (available at Home Depot). Not only does this keep your living space tidy, it also shortens the time it takes to recycle when you aren't forced to sort through your stuff at the recycling center.

Here are some other tips for handeling your recycling from planetgreen.discovery.com

What do the Arrows Mean?

Each of the three arrows has its own meaning. The second means "reuse". If we find uses for the things we would ordinarily discard, then we can save the environment ...and a couple of dollars! The meaning of the other two arrows can be found on other pages on this site.
